…that’s what holidays are always like! The week in Empuriabrava passed too quickly. Soon I will post some pictures and maybe even a video of my skydives. But for now, you’ve got to be happy with some links:

Today, I did some incredible progress in freeflying. With my instructor Fred of the world winning Babylon team, I had some great jumps with a lot of fun. 7 jumps today, really tired and looking forward to catch the next load tomorrow morning…
What a great place here! My first day in Empuriabrava was an exellent start for this holiday. The drop zone is located about one mile from the mediterranean coast which makes it a real scenic area. To the south you see the beach, hotels and the beautiful sea. To the north the snow covered mountains. Whow!
My new freefly pants are great, tomorrow i*ll book a course to improve my freefly skills… Hey guys at Skydive Oregon: I miss you here! Would be cool to have you here jumping, too…
But what*s funny: I met I guy I went to school with in N`rtingen, ha!
Now that my time in Portland has ended, I integradted the news blog and guest book into my primary page.
Just by accident I was looking for a new browser last week. After working with Opera for the last years, but getting annoyed by the advertisement banner, I wanted to give Mozilla and Netscape a new chance. Right, I don’t want to pay for a browser! Pretty amazing that in that very moment, Firefox 1.0 got announced. First steps were kind of bumpy, since what I expected to be “tabbed browsing” was not working properly. Links opened in new window and the settings made in the options dialog didn’t seem to affect the behaviour.
Some forums revealed the trick: Because of some problems that I cannot reproduce, the options were disabled. Typing “about:config” in the address bar opens all configuration parameter. Setting “browser.tabs.showSingleWindowModePrefs” to “true” shows all necessary options and makes Firefox working like Opera. Neat!
Some extensions I really like: “Advanced Highlighter Button” highlights search results, “GMail Notifier” presents my inbox status in the Firefox status bar, “JustBlogIt” lets you blog by simply right-clicking some text, “Image Zoom” zooms whatever image you want inside a page without changing the appearance around the image.
Beside that, Firefox is called more secure. We will see whether Open Source can keep it’s promise. Give it a try, it doesn’t cost a thing! [Firefox home]
OK, that was faster than I thought: We’ve got the first snow here in Stuttgart (brrrr). Time to go back to drinking hot Caipirinha - YESYESYES!
